Seven industry groups and two research laboratories combine to create in Lyon Saint-Etienne, the research center Lyon Polymer Science & Engineering. The groups Arkema, Bluestar Silicones, Hutchinson, Nexans, Solvay, Toray and Total signed an agreement of privileged partnerships with the CNRS and institutions, University Claude Bernard Lyon 1, INSA Lyon, University Jean Monnet St Etienne and CoPEH Lyon Lyon University for the establishment of a research center based on the expertise and skills of scientific research laboratories of Polymer Materials Engineering (IMP), Chemistry, Catalysis, Polymers and Processes (C2P2) and also the Laboratory of Polymers and Advanced Materials (LPMA Solvay / CNRS).
This research center aims to be, in France, the international dimension reference center in the field of polymerization and polymer materials. Members of Lyon Polymer Science & Engineering division has, moreover, the ambition to rely on a pool of expertise, on a park of high level shared equipment to strengthen and sustain collaborations leading to future innovations.
