Industrial and laboratories have now access to FEMTOSECOND LASER for the high rate of multi-scale texturing surfaces ( 0.1 .mu.m to 100 .mu.m ) , the result of a public-private association Equipex winning MANUTECH -USD
Access to the femtosecond laser Equipex MANUTECH USD is now operational and open to laboratories and industrals.
This multibeam equipment allows the high speed multi-scale texturing surfaces (0.1 .mu.m to 100 .mu.m), and may render a surface hydrophobic or hydrophilic contrary; reduce drag and turbulence created by aircraft wings, the turbine blades or wind turbines; facilitate adherence or lubrication; get a ‘hit’ specific sensory of matter …
To respond to this type of industrial needs, four academic laboratories of the University of Lyon (Ecole Centrale de Lyon, Université Jean Monnet, ENISE, Mines Saint Etienne), such as the LTDS ( flagship member of the Institut Carnot Inénierie@Lyon), have teamed up with partners from industry (HEF, CETIM also labeled Carnot) as part of a USD-MANUTECH Equipex “Ultrafast Surface Design”, bringing together on the same site since 2011.
Worn by the territories of Saint-Etienne and Lyon, MANUTECH, positioned on the theme of Surface Engineering, was the only initiative in France to be selected by two calls for LIP projects: Equipex (MANUTECH-USD) and Labex (SISE-MANUTECH combining another laboratory lighthouse Institut Carnot Ingénierie@Lyon: LaMCoS INSA Lyon) to develop advanced analysis equipment and technology demonstrators for Surface Engineering.
