manutech usdManutech USD brings together in Saint-Etienne (France) academic (Université Jean Monnet, Centrale Lyon, Ecole Nationale d’Ingénieurs Saint-Etienne, Mines Saint-Etienne) and industrial partners (CETIM, Groupe HEF, Groupe WeAre) sharing their resources and knowledge to provide an open femtosecond laser technological platform dedicated to exploring and exploiting its scientific and industrial possibilities.
As an expert in science and technology engineering and multi-scale surface functionalization, Manutech USD allows you to texturize and characterise your surfaces and define the adequate economical and industrial process.

Manutech USD offers an access to its equipment and associated expert resources. The platform is dedicated to research and industrial projects from start-ups to large corporations. Our expertise encompasses the treatment of all materials without exception, high-speed processing and its deployment on surfaces of all sizes.

> SURFACE FUNCTIONALIZATION
Transform the properties of a material to give it new functionalities in order to improve its performances (friction, wettability, self-cleaning, design, cellular growth, waves trap, etc.).

> ENGRAVING
Engrave and mark the surface of a material with a topography controlled down to a nanometric precision.

> CUTTING
Go through any material (wood, plastic, cardboard, metal...) with controlled thermal impact and micrometric precision at high processing speed.

> ENGINEERING
Laser beam distribution on the surface, beam shaping, scanner piloting, multi beam, etc…
Treatment of complex geometrical shapes of all sizes
Femtosecond laser integration into production units.

> SURFACE AND MATERIAL CHARACTERIZATION
Morphological analysis, wettability measurements and tribological /mechanical tests. 3D micrometrical imagery, TEM lamellas micromachining, cross-section and microstructural/metallugircal analysis, sub micrometric chemical analysis, micromechanical material characterization.

> TRL ELEVATION is a constitutive element of Manutech USD’s DNA, acting as a bridge between academics and industrials. Thanks to the diversity of its partners, the Manutech community covers the full TRL scale from 1 to 9.
